My one objective
In all of the time I gave to my mom,
Helping her... simply being with her

Was to make sure she knew,
Just how much she is loved, and that
She would not be going through this
End of her life alone.

I promised I would be there for her
All the way to the end.

I know she is in a better place
But the sense of loss
Weighs heavy on my heart.

And now God is making sure that I also know...
I am not alone.

With each day, more cards come in the mail.
Friends send their love and support.
A meal is being delivered to us tonight.
A beautiful plant arrived yesterday.
Thoughtful notes arrive in my email.

Scriptures tell us:

"Blessed are they that mourn:
for they shall be comforted."  Matthew 5:4

In my mourning, yes,
I am comforted.

I am blessed.
