Two years have passed since Mom died.

The pain now fades with time.
Yet when I read this journal,
It takes me back to the times that were so hard
And yet are now such cherished memories for me.

Over these two years, I have attended numerous friends' funerals.
As we grieve our loss, "life" moves on,
Even though, for a time, it seems to stand still.

With each funeral, I am reminded how incredibly fragile life is.
And most importantly, I have a sense of just how precious life is.

We have such a brief time here on this earth,
And our days here are really so few.

I am understanding just how important it is to live life well...
Love others
Cherish friendship
Show gratitude
Be faithful and honor commitments that you have made
Do not lie or betray or cheat or steal or covet
Laugh often
Cry when it fits the moment
Give a hug
Accept a hug
Pray
Live

Look back on your life.
Remember the importance of each day.
And live accordingly.
