I see the beautiful morning light
Yearning to squeeze through the cracks in the blinds
In my mom’s darkened room.

She will not see this morning sky,
Or feel the cool air of Fall again.

I am glad she let me take her outside
A few days ago, to experience her
Last morning sunrise.
