One minute, I feel as if life is going on.
And the next, the pain rushes back in.

Such is life in this phase they call 'mourning'.

I think of something to tell her, and I can't.
I think of a question, and I realize the answer is unattainable.
One less present to buy at Christmas.
One less speed-dial number in my cell phone.
One less email address to send to.

A final page has turned, in a chapter in my life.
For all of us in our family, we face this same challenge.
To carry on with life, knowing that something is markedly different now.

Such is life in this phase they call 'mourning'.

Mom, you were loved so much by us all.
I hope you really knew just how much you were loved.
I think you knew, but I still wish I could tell you, just one more time.
