Her body so frail now.
Her breathing so weak.
She made it through one more day.

I don’t know which “goodnight” will
actually turn out to be my final “goodbye”.
Time will answer that question soon enough.

In the dim room, Mom, I watch you breath.
Each breath an effort, as you sleep.

I sit and pray for you.
I pray that in your slumber, you feel no pain.

I trust you know how much I am loving you right now.
